Obama Speech
Last week Senator Obama gave a powerful speech about race in America. His speech was not given as a black man, or as a white man, but rather as an american who sees both sides of the country's race divide. In his speech he remembers growing up a child who did not have this divide in his home, but rather a integrated family that lived as one that was not separated by color. He like many others still hold on to that dream of becoming a unified nation, in which everything and everyone, no matter what race, occupation, or religion one is. This is a change that no-one will be able to accomplish in four years, but rather in steps over time. This change has been occurring since the nation was founded and will continue to do so for as long as people see the color of a man, instead of what his character is. One day this dream will come true and when it does, our futures will be brighter, and our people will be better.

His speech was indeed very powerful. I agree with everything that you said. I loved the way he presented his speech and how he gave it as a person seeing both sides of the racial divide.
Usually I do not like it when politicians take the middle ground, because it is often inappropriate to the issue and very insincere. Oboma’s speech on the other had is the exception to this rule. His stance was intelligent and seemed very sincere. It made a lot of sense and it was refreshing to hear someone talk about race as a realist instead of an idealist.
